"What you been up to?" a random friend
"Oh you know, work has been busy. " my response
LAME! What a boring old response! Next time someone asks me this I am going to give a much better answer.
Enjoying nature- Lady Gaga is on the left, she has orange lips. Marie is the largest one in the middle. The others don't have names since I can't tell who is who.
Poor Donnie succumbed to the rain storms of 2015.
Rodrigo and Felix, our backyard duo.
No big deal, just a dear walking right past me in front of my patient's house.
Have I mentioned the minagerie we have by the pond in the backyard yet? This dragonfly was huge and vibrantly red.
I also spend most of May doing a 30 day plank challenge. Earned myself a nifty carpet burn as a battle wound. My final plank was 3 minutes and 30 seconds.
This lovely lady completed chapter 3 of her dissertation, which meant we treated ourselves to dessert. Those there are goat cheese balls, they had lavender in them and an edible orchid on the side.
Melissa fell in love with them.
Yes, that is correct, three desserts for 2 people. Lemon Blueberry Bread Pudding, Banana Crem Brule, and chocolate and peanut butter mousse. AKA, Heaven!
And then there has been painting....
and more painting... this one was made better after I took recommendations from my artist patient
Bridgid, in her wisdom, invited a bunch of us to join her at Hop Doddy's.
Look whose back of her head is famous!
Then Bridgid had us visit Terra Toys. I think I'll stick with my own hair,
not sure a head of snakes is for me.
I've also been enjoying my workouts. I attempted some Yoga along side Lake Bird Lake by the board walk after an 8 mile run.
Last weekend my nephew Raza was in Austin. He introduced his Tamara Khala to Dave and Busters. I admit, I had a lot of fun. So did Dia Khala, his other Aunt.
I was silly enough to take on a new patient in Sun City (Georgetown). I've heard about The Monument Cafe and their famous chocolate pie. I decided to let traffic die down, write my notes at the booth, and enjoy some dinner and a piece of pie.
Today's Adventure was with my Best Friends of nearly 25 years. (6th grade was a long time ago)
We went ice skating for starters.
You feel so pretty and graceful gliding on ice!
I will not post the video of the crash, but I am proud to say that the I did not fall down. However, Nadia and I were shoved to the ground by a stray skater and I have a great bruise on my calf and literal pain my my butt to prove it. It gave us a good laugh. I guess we kinda deserved it, we were trying to take a picture on the ice.
Ice skating makes you hungry. Here is a delicious cookie from Whole Foods.
Followed by more painting...
My Indian Blanket Wildflower
Tashi's gorgeous tree
Nadia's copper horse with an amazing mane.
Nope, my life is not just about work. I love my job, but I definitely work to live, not live to work!
