Welcome Home

Remember this?

September 2015

Well on Wednesday April 13th, 2016 after 62 signatures/initials...

This became mine!

Then the shopping began
(ok so some of this was purchased before closing day)

Furniture from Ikea

Paint from Lowes

And the very night of closing day, we started painting!

 I had fantastic help.

By Friday we began moving my stuff in. It was chaos!

But we are fast in this family.
Here is my kitchen by Saturday afternoon.

To date, I've already made my famous chocolate chip cookies.

And treated myself to Belgium waffles
(Devin style- peanut butter, cinnamon, and syrup).

I mean my kitchen does say EAT afterall!

And my landscaper came my second weekend to start on the yard, he dug out the corner while I planted flowers at the walkway.

Then we used rocks left from the home to pretty it up and filled the corner with the homemade wishing well from my dad, mulch, and a gorgeous Esperanza plant.

This week we worked on the backyard,
prepping it for a garden soon.

I had my first bird this week.

And last night was a housewarming party. My mom went all out!

All you can eat cake balls! Plus a Costco Cheesecake and Tres Leches cake, among other things.

Come on in and see what it looks like inside!

The entryway

The living room

Entry to the kitchen, artwork in center from Bethlehem. A gift from my friend Dan.

EAT letters from the fabulous Dr. Melissa Smith

Indian Spices from Nadia

And a framed memorial to my great-grandma Taylor.

On to the rest of the house...

The guest bedroom that needs personality...

Third bedroom that will serve as a massage room/craft room. Also lacking personality.

Guest bathroom

And my favorite...my painting room
(because the term "den" is so boring!)
I love, love, love this room!

Masterbath

And my bedroom....

Yes, that is a purple wall. One purple and three gray walls. Everyone who walked in there during my open house said it felt so calm and inviting. Probably because their was noise and chaos in the rest of the house, but I do love the colors in here too!

Least we forget, here is the front yard...

And the backyard...

Last night my home was filled with friends from all walks of my life, my childhood friends, church friends past and present, gym friends, patient's, and lots of little kids running around giving hugs and making themselves comfortable. I even had a friend fly in from Utah...ok, so perhaps her trip just happened to coincide. I was overwhelmed with the love I felt last night and hope that the Spirit of God will always dwell in my home and those who enter in will feel peace, love, and joy.
